Everything you need to know before your Hair & Makeup appointment
To ensure you get the most out of your hair and makeup appointment, please read and share these important notes and tips with all members of your booking:
HAIR
- Wash your hair the night before your appointment, not on the day.
- Double shampoo and use a small amount of light conditioner through mid-lengths and ends.
- For naturally straight hair, let it dry naturally.
- For naturally curly/wavy/frizzy hair, smooth-dry with a hairdryer and a round or paddle brush with light heat protection spray.
- If you have special hair requirements, discuss with your stylist for personalized directions.
HAIR NOTES FOR BLOW WAVES/BLOW DRY STYLES ONLY
- Wash your hair on the day of your appointment.
- Double shampoo and use a small amount of light conditioner through mid-lengths and ends.
- Towel-dry and arrive with damp hair.
- Leave hair slightly damp with no products.
HAIR NOTES TO AVOID
Avoid using heavy, sticky, oily, or crunchy products.
Don't arrive with "dirty" hair; clean and fresh hair is best.
Avoid using Pantene or Tresemme shampoo or heavy conditioners.
MAKEUP
- Drink plenty of water
- If choosing to use a sheet mask, apply the night before
- Use a rich night cream the night before.
- Tidy your brows before your appointment.
- Cleanse your face the morning of your appointment.
- Gently exfoliate your skin and lips.
- Apply a light moisturiser
- Keep eye drops handy.
- Brush your teeth before your appointment.
- Insert contact lenses before your appointment (and bring a spare set).
- Have your favourite lip products, a concealer & some power handy for touch-ups.
- Consider a lash tint to frame your eyes.
MAKEUP NOTES TO AVOID
- Don't wax eyebrows or facial hair for at least 8-10 days before your appointment.
- Avoid products containing oils, SPF, and rich oil-based moisturisers
- Don't use sheet masks on the day of your appointment.
- Don't wear makeup to your appointment.
- Don't touch any spots or blemishes.
- Avoid freeze-frame or heavy products.
- Don't get lash extensions if you would like mascara, tight liner, or false eyelashes.
- Avoid lash lifts if you would like false eyelashes to be applied
- Avoid brow tinting for the first time, as it can be difficult to correct.
- Allow recovery ample time after any treatments, dermaplaning, botox, facial injections
TANNING
- If you choose to Fake Tan, do so 2 days before your event.
- Exfoliate, moisturise, and do hair removal the day before application.
- Follow tanning directions precisely.
- Apply a light layer of tanning product to your face and blend down the neck & into hair line and behind ears.
- Moisturise your entire body to keep your tan fresh.
BODY
Apply deodorant, perfume, body lotions, and hand creams well before dressing to ensure they are fully absorbed.
WHAT TO WEAR
- For hair-only appointments, wear a button-down or zipper top.
- For hair and/or makeup appointments, wear a strapless top with décolletage accessible.
- Keep your hair tidy and away from your face.
- Remove earrings and necklaces.

A gentle reminder if anyone has any infections or virus’s we will not be able to perform services and alternate arrangements will need to be made for the safety of our artists, kits and all guests on your booking.
